UNIFIED DISPATCH CENTER FOR TRANSPORT MONITORING IN KYIV

DURATION OF A PROJECT 2018

MAIN OBJECTIVE Design of hardware and software platform for a unified dispatch center for transport monitoring and gathering of information.

A unified dispatch center that lets Kyiv's utility providers plan, track and manage their entire vehicle fleet from one platform.

VM Construction built the hardware-and-software platform for a Unified Dispatch Center (UDC) that plans, controls, accounts for and manages the vehicle fleets of public utility providers.

To bring the UDC to life, we engineered a set of technical solutions and designed the subsystems of the integrated information infrastructure:

1. We designed the structured cabling, data transmission and video surveillance systems, and equipped the utility providers with computer workstations.

2. We built the complex software from a suite of specialised tools that work together to cover the full job — control, planning, monitoring, accounting and management.

3. For the transport-monitoring and data-gathering subsystems, we fitted both service and passenger vehicles with equipment that delivers:
  • capturing and processing data on how vehicle mechanisms are performing;
  • data exchange with the central controller of the vehicle's smart measuring system;
  • exchange with the driver's in-cab terminal;
  • data exchange with the central server of the UDC control center;
  • voice communication between driver and UDC operator;
  • vehicle localization.

In short, the Unified Dispatch Center brings it all under one roof: on-board vehicle equipment, enterprise telecommunications, software and server hardware, and the computer workstations at both the enterprises and the control centers.
